This product really works!!! I followed the instructions as written. I rolled out six one hundred foot sections. I placed a few rocks on corners to keep the wind from displacing the mats. I overlapped each one and hand watered as I went. Then I simply watered the area everyday. It was 90 plus degrees the entire time with no measurable rainfall. I’m in East Texas and currently have a Bermuda lawn. I purchased the Bermuda/ Rye grass mats. The mats are very tender and easily punctured so protect the area from animals both human and non! Keep the area saturated not drowning. I hand watered 2 to 4 times daily to prevent drying!

This product works very well. If you follow the directions and water it shortly after installing it, the grass starts to grow within a couple of weeks. I used it to grow grass in a bare area where all of the grass died. Now it is full of grass.

Half bought this as a gag gift half bought it for my husband. I made him tear up the yard to run electric to our barn and while we have attempted to seed it the chickens love to eat the seed. This seems to be the perfect solution to this problem. We tested a small amount in some dirt in a cup since it’s winter and we were impressed with how quickly and how thick it grew. I wish I had a picture but kids... they dumped the grass on the floor.

I'm in Houston, and "planted" the Grotrax in late February. I can't say I did the best job of preparing the area (laid it on top if some patchy grass) and didn't water it as well as was recommended (but weather has been cool and damp). After two weeks, I have green grass almost 2" tall. Not all that thick yet but is growing more dense each day. Compared to the larger area where I spread seed, this section looks amazing.

I live in Arizona, so this review will definitely need an update, but so far I've been watering it it has kind of sprouted in certain spots but not fully and it was really easy to lay down in my yard. 50 square feet is a whole lot bigger than I thought it was going to be which is nice I definitely won't need as many of these as I thought I was going to. But I only bought one roll to test it out before I decided to do my whole yard. My dogs haven't eaten it or chewed it up which is great as of yet and it hasn't been raining a lot until today so we've just been watering it as normal and so far so good.

This is Maine and I needed grass over my leach field. In my photo, you can see that, after three weeks , shoopati was covered with lush green grass that is about 3 inches high. Below that is the result of my use of another product: AmTurf. Admittedly I did not remove all the grass under the AmTurf as is recommended. But I watered twice each day and I applied and cared for both products in the same manner and planted them at the same time. The AmTurf did not grow and actually blew over in spots, as you can see. The cost is the same for the same coverage. I would recommend shoopati, not AmTurf.

This is the first review I've done for something that isn't giving me free product. Let me say that again, I have not and am not getting anything for free for this review. I have struggled for two years to grow grass in this one location due to poor drainage and grass seed always washing away, even with straw on top. This product did the trick and I'll let the picture speak for itself. That was bare dirt (Virginia clay dirt I might add) before putting the Gotrax grass matt down. I used two 100 sq ft rolls for this. Original picture taken in April 5th, and the upper picture is what I have on May 3rd. Less than one months time. Pretty amazing.
(Picture was taken after first mowing. I let the grass blades get about 8 inches before cutting. Don't cut your baby grass too early on!)
Keys to success:
-Keep traffic off of it.
-If the forecast isn't calling for rain, water in the morning and evening.
-the matt is lightweight so be mindful of wind! I had it blow away a couple times early on. I then used several small but heavy rocks to hold it down in several places.
Thank you Shoopati for finally getting grass to grow in my yard!

I didn't pay attention to the various kinds of grass; so I bought high traffic to start with. When I realized my space would need two rolls, I bought shade grass. There is a distinctive line, but I think as time goes by it will become less so. The pictures show the process (sorry about the distraction of leaves!). I did not get all the roots of the weeds, so they grew really well, too. The skunks and raccoon dug in moist earth and tore the paper, but I was able to pat it back down and the grass grew in. The last picture is after my first mow. I am not a perfectionist and it worked! I am really happy with the product.

I've had a terrible time getting grass to grow in a few areas of my yard. I've tried seed and that combo mulch/seed stuff in a shaker bottle. Nothing worked. So I bought this product, skeptical, but hoping it might work. I was shocked at how fast it's growing! The first picture is just 10 days after putting it down. There is no way regular seed would grow that fast! The second picture is at 2 weeks, and the last picture is about 6 weeks. WOW! I only bought two rolls to test out, but I'm going to buy a few more rolls to fix a few more areas during the fall season so next year I'll hopefully have a great lawn finally.
